This panel focuses on fostering collaboration and advancing High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean through the identification and exploration of various funding sources. With a goal to highlight key financial opportunities, the session will address national, regional, and international funding options for HPC projects.

Participants will learn about effective financing mechanisms, collaborative networks among academic, governmental, and private institutions, and strategies to attract investors and ensure long-term sustainability. The panel will also cover sector-specific impacts, gender inclusion, and alignment with sustainable development goals. This comprehensive discussion aims to uncover challenges, share successful case studies, and offer recommendations for designing compelling HPC projects that meet investor expectations and support regional advancement.

General Objective: 

Promote collaboration and development of high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure  in Latin America and the Caribbean through the identification and exploration of various  financing sources. 

Specific Objectives: 

  1. Identify the main sources of financing available at the national, regional and  international level for HPC projects in the region. 
  2. Analyze the most appropriate financing mechanisms for the implementation and  maintenance of collaborative HPC infrastructure. 
  3. Promote the creation of collaborative networks between academic, government and  private institutions to access shared funds and resources. 
  4. Discuss the challenges and opportunities that countries in the region face in  obtaining financing for HPC. 
  5. Develop recommendations for design
