Abstract

Intel, under the leadership of Santiago Cardona, Director of Latin America, will present the company’s strategic vision in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on the High Performance Computing (HPC) segment. As an example of this vision, a successful case in Latin America will be highlighted, where Argentina’s National Meteorological Service has enhanced its forecasting capabilities through advanced solutions provided by Intel. Pablo Loyber, Director of Technological Infrastructure and Data at the National Meteorological Service, will share how the integration of these technologies has transformed the meteorological operations, emphasizing the collaboration between Intel and the Argentine Meteorological Service. The strategic partnership between Intel company and Argentina´s National Meteorological Service in this ambitious joint project will also be highlighted.

Bio

Santiago Cardona is the Director for Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America at Intel. This position is the result of Intel’s strategy to optimize the organization and enhance its focus across the region, prioritizing operations in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, to fully leverage the dynamics and synergies between the markets.

Previously, he was the General Director of Intel in Mexico, where he was responsible for leading, planning, executing, and coordinating the strategic direction of the company, overseeing the sales and marketing operations team in the country. He managed all end-user segments (consumers, businesses, and governments), as well as relationships with all manufacturers and partners selling products with Intel technology. He also handled all regulatory aspects impacting Intel’s business in Mexico.

Cardona has been part of Intel since 2000 and has held various leadership positions, including General Director of Intel in Peru, Sales and Marketing Manager for South America, District Sales Manager for Intel Southern Cone, and Market Development Manager for Intel in Latin America, among others.

Santiago has over two decades of experience in the Information Technology industry across multiple Latin American countries. His additional experience in marketing and sales roles has allowed him to build high-performing, motivated teams capable of exceeding business expectations and objectives.

Santiago is Colombian, a graduate of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá with a degree in Electronic Engineering. He holds an MBA from the Instituto de Alta Dirección Empresarial (INALDE) at Universidad de La Sabana in Bogotá and completed the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) offered by Stanford University in California in 2023. In 2023, he was recognized as one of the 25 most influential executives in Mexico according to Forbes’ “CEOs Change Makers” ranking.
