Call for Papers Program

CALL FOR PAPERS CARLA 2021

CARLA 2021 will feature two exciting tracks: HPC (High Performance Computing) and Artificial Intelligence using HPC. The latter is a recent addition to the regular CARLA program and focuses on the synergies between AI applications and HPC. These synergies are bidirectional. On one hand, AI needs HPC to run its greedy algorithms to solve a large variety of problems in multiple domains. On the other hand, HPC is finding its way to increase its impact on our society thanks to the multiple existent AI applications. In both cases, the complexity of HPC&AI systems often requires the use of HPC to tackle realistic problems where both the amount of data and the number of relationships among data elements could be monumental.

The conference program includes keynote and invited talks from academy and industry, full-article and poster sessions (presenting both mature work and new ideas in research), workshops, tutorials, discussion spaces, and more.

All papers accepted for publication will be included in the CARLA 2021 Proceedings, to be published in Springer CCIS Series-Communications in Computer and Information Science. CCIS is abstracted/indexed in Scopus, DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews and SCImago. The following link contains the list of CCIS volumes for previous editions of CARLA conference: https://link.springer.com/conference/carla

Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ instructions and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made. If you or any of the authors contributing to CARLA 2021 are interested in Open Access or Open Choice, please refer to our webpage for prices and additional information. We would need the invoicing address and the CC-BY Consent-to-Publish forms at the same time as the files for the publication.

Submission Guidelines

Authors should consult Springer's authors' guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for MSWord, for the preparation of their articles: template https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines

Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their articles. To create an ORCID ID please visit https://orcid.org/register

In addition, the corresponding author of an article, acting on behalf of all authors of that article, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form, through which the copyright for their article is transferred to Springer.

  • All submissions must be in English, the only official language of the conference.
  • Regular articles should not exceed 15 pages (including references).
  • Articles must be formatted in the LNCS style of Springer Verlag LNCS style (see details at: https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines)
  • All submitted research articles will be peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers.
  • Only contributions that are not submitted elsewhere or currently under review will be considered.
  • Only accepted contributions presented at the conference will be included in the proceedings.
  • Article submission is handled electronically with Springer’s Online Conference System: OCS
  • All articles accepted for publication will be included in the CARLA 2021 Proceedings, to be published in Springer CCIS Series -- Communications in Computer and Information Science.
